In a world where climate, social, and moral crises overlap, Romania needs a new generation of leaders — not just technically skilled, but grounded in values, connected to their communities, and courageous in the face of uncertainty. This is where Moonrise comes in. Moonrise.
Launched by Pur și Simplu Verde, Moonrise is an intensive program, free for those selected, that trains young people between 18 and 25 for real leadership, the kind you live, not just learn. The program takes place in Bucharest during November and brings together key voices from government, journalism, business, and activism with one clear mission: to raise the tide. Just as the moon lifts the oceans, a good leader can shift the direction of an entire community.
One of Moonrise’s defining features is its green axis: a significant portion of the content is dedicated to sustainability, the green transition, and planetary boundaries. Among the trainers are Ana-Maria Pălăduș, the coordinator of the European Climate Pact in Romania, known for mobilizing citizens and institutions around an ambitious climate agenda; Ioana Petrescu, European Climate Pact Ambassador and founder of Pur și Simplu Verde, recognized for her work on integrating satellite data into public policy; Laura Petrescu, a lawyer and Climate Pact Ambassador; and Bogdan Gioară, founder of REPER 21, who has spent years working at the intersection of local development, social justice, and the environment.
Moonrise is not a classic leadership course. It doesn’t just teach you “how to be a leader.” It challenges you to clarify your values, push your limits, and learn to act with clarity. It’s a space for those who think differently, for those who understand that leadership isn’t about control, but about responsibility. From applied discussions of foundational texts to local public debates, NGO placements, and real public campaigns, Moonrise is built as an accelerator for young people who no longer want to just observe the world, they want to shape it.
The program is valued at €2000 per participant, but all those who need financial support and are accepted into the program will receive a full scholarship. We’re not looking for customers. We’re looking for young people with vision, courage, and a sense of responsibility.
If you’re between 18 and 25, living in Bucharest or able to travel there during the November weekends, visit www.moonrise.ro and apply by October 19, 2025. Choose to be part of the generation that lifts the tide, not just the one that watches it.
