Earth's average surface temperature in 2022 was the fifth warmest on record, according to an analysis by NASA. This warming trend is due to human activities pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The harmful emissions have rebounded following a short-lived dip in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Arctic region experiences the strongest warming trends – close to four times the global average.NASA has reported that they are deepening their commitment to address climate change by providing state-of-the-art data through their sattelites from the Earth System Observatory.
