Myths and Facts about Hydrogen
"Pur si Simplu Verde" and Mureș Regional Council are organizing an online event about the role of hydrogen in energy transition. There are several myths about hydrogen that we are trying to debunk with representatives of the Mureș County Council, civil society and the local business environment. Mureș is one of the areas that are most affected by the energy transition, considering the concentration of the county's economy on polluting industries. Producing hydrogen-based energy in the region and using it to heat public buildings and in public transportation can help Mures go through the energy transition without major negative consequences on the county's economy.
But there are misconceptions about this source of energy: it is said that it cannot be produced in Romania, that there is no funding for starting such projects, or that it is polluting. Experts in green energy and environmental activists from Pur si Simplu Verde, representatives of energy companies and the Regional Council will explain to the residents of Mureș some basic concepts regarding the energy transition, what is the role of hydrogen in this transition, what are the benefits of producing energy from hydrogen for the environment, where funding sources for hydrogen production projects can be obtained and what is the role of local authorities in stimulating the production of energy from hydrogen.
The event represents the second intervention organized by Pur si Simplu Verde in which various actors involved in the energy transition try to make the general public aware of new energy sources and to convince citizens of the importance of implementing the Just Transition in Romania.
